Breathe. Move. Connect.

Movement, music, and expression were a large part of my earlier life (they still are!). I was ambitious; often working multiple jobs while studying and planning the next travel adventure. At some point, I realized I was searching for something. I spent more time in nature and in deeper conversations trying to connect with something larger, steadier than myself. It was then that I started a yoga practice.
Yoga became something I turned to during beautiful and painful parts of life. It became more than a physical practice. More and more, what I found on my mat was a calm, centred mind that with practice, followed me outside the studio and into other parts of life.
The teachings of yoga have been passed from teacher to teacher for thousands of years. It is with a humble heart and the sincerest of intentions, that I offer guidance for your practice today. Let each breath bring you closer to home as you flow in practice and in life.
Formal trainings have taken me to:
Informal training has been the devotional practice of my adult life. I've been privileged to practice in studios with inspiring teachers in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, Tofino and the Okanagan. The list will continue to grow as I will always be a student of yoga and forever grateful for the teachings and teachers before me.
My teachings come from a Hatha origin. When you attend a class, or register for a series, you can expect an environment that supports self inquiry. Time and encouragement to return to home using breath, exterior focus (drishti), interior focus (intention) and sometimes mantra (sacred sounds). While I am alignment focused, my teachings reflect the dynamic needs of individual bodies rather than ideals: I take your well-being seriously, not the aesthetics of poses.
One on one guidance for yourself or your group. We can weave a session around your exact need. 60 and 90 minute sessions available.
Beginner, prenatal, and restorative focus welcome.

My intention as a yoga instructor is to hold space for you to explore breath, movement and your own inner knowing. My other intention is to keep your practice safe by adapting styles and alignment principles to your unique needs. I hold certifications to teach hatha, prenatal, yin and restorative yoga classes. I am a student of the eight limbs and passionate about continuing training and education.
